The tour begins from the meeting point (either from your accommodation or from anywhere you wish). Our first brief stop will be at the bronze monument of Leonidas who used to be a king and a General of the Spartans during the Thermopylae battle. Our next stop will be at Meteora a dark-coloured rock complex with monasteries at their tops since 1988 situated outside kalambaka town. Nearby lies the town of kalambaka built at the foot of Meteora where we can have some food or drink. Not so far away is Kastraki, a village surrounded by the rocks with well-preserved mansions with red-tiled roofs. Then we will be visiting Theopetra Cave. This prehistoric cave was inhabited by people 130.000 years ago in the Paleolithic era. Our last stop will be at the Meteora Monasteries, one of the most significant Monastery centres in Greece with the first eremites settling in the region in the 11th century. Then we will be returning to your accommodation.
